From Corporate to Creative: My Path to Entrepreneurship
I didn’t set out to be an entrepreneur. In fact, for a long time, I followed the script—one that promised stability, predictability, and success if I just played by the rules. I built my career in HR, first in the corporate world, then in a fast-paced startup, thinking I had found my lane. But something was missing.
There was always this nagging feeling that I wasn’t fully in alignment with myself. That I was pouring energy into systems I didn’t build, for goals that weren’t my own. I had a deep desire for more freedom, more creativity, and most of all—more control over how I worked and who I worked with.
The real turning point came when I took a leap and started Charm City Picnic, a business that blended my love for Baltimore with my creative side. Organizing beautifully curated picnics gave me a taste of what it meant to build something from the ground up. It was exhilarating. But as any entrepreneur knows, building a business isn’t just about passion—it’s about operations, logistics, and the daily grind of keeping things running. And that’s where I saw the bigger picture.
I realized that many small business owners, especially creatives, struggle not with their craft but with everything else—the emails, the scheduling, the invoicing, the systems. I had spent years in HR fine-tuning processes, making things run smoothly, and supporting teams behind the scenes. What if I could do that for other entrepreneurs?
That’s how Noted was born. I took my expertise in organization and business operations and turned it into a service that helps small business owners stay on top of their workload—so they can focus on what they do best.
